What insurances do you accept?

The list of insurances I’m accepting expands constantly, so please verify with Headway whether I’m currently paneled with your insurance and what your copays will be.

How does online therapy work?

I use a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. You should be in a place where your connection is good, you are alone, and you feel comfortable to talk freely. You will receive a link to sign in to your appointments; I recommend trying it sometime before your first session so you can troubleshoot the camera, microphone, etc. so we don’t have to spend any of your session time on IT.

What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

Welcome. I’m here to make therapy work for you. If you have any questions, worries, or concerns, please share them with me so we can address them together.

What happens in the first session

We’ll spend time talking about what brings you to therapy and what you want to get out of it. I’ll answer any questions or concerns you may have and start getting to know you. We’ll both make sure we’re the right fit for one another. Just like for any important relationship, there has to be a fit in order for therapy to work. If for any reason I’m not the right therapist for you, I’ll be glad to help you find someone who may be.

What if I’ve had a bad experience with therapy or it hasn’t helped in the past?

Bad experiences with therapy, including therapy that just didn’t help, drive so many people to write it off entirely. When the therapist is the right fit and has the skills to select and use the most appropriate treatments, it can be absolutely life changing, so I’m glad you’re considering trying again!

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Not always, but definitely reach out if that’s what you need. I typically offer a few evening or weekend appointments, and I’m happy to see if it’s possible to accommodate your scheduling needs.
